The Center for Frontline Retail’s workforce development plays a critical role in helping low-income New Yorkers access new opportunities in the retail sector. The retail industry is one of the few growing industries creating new jobs during a time of high unemployment. Discount brands and luxury retailers are both growing, reflecting the need for qualified and trained retail workers. Frontline creates pathways to advancement from low-wage retail jobs to a career in luxury stores through our workforce development program, where workers connect with employment and advancement opportunities. Frontline offers the employment services, career coaching, and networking opportunities needed to achieve stability and growth in the retail sector.
Our high-road hiring network creates strong, quality job matches in the retail industry by working with employers and job seekers to match skills and qualifications. We host hiring events with Workforce 1 at least once a week at our office, at which we help place candidates in employment and advancement opportunities at stores such as Barneys New York and Saks Fifth Avenue. Our job band includes leaders in the retail industry such as Macy’s Department Store and H&M.
